Innovative Support Program Launched for Veterinarian Clinics in British Columbia

March 9, 2024 Off By Author

British Columbia’s veterinary clinics specializing in farm animals are set to receive a significant boost through a $300,000 pilot program. This initiative aims to support the placements of up to 50 veterinary and veterinary technologist students by covering their summer placement costs, including wages and travel expenses. The program is designed to alleviate the staffing shortages faced by clinics and is open to practices accredited by the College of Veterinarians of BC that offer services for a variety of farm animals. Funded by the Governments of Canada and British Columbia under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, the program prioritizes strengthening the veterinary care available to the province’s farmers and ranchers.
