Italian Farmers Stage Massive Protest Over “Made in Italy” Labeling

Tens of thousands of Italian farmers, clad in yellow, staged a major protest this week, disrupting a key agricultural conference. The demonstrators are outraged over EU labeling practices that they believe allow products made outside of Italy to unfairly benefit from the “Made in Italy” reputation.

The #NoFakeInItaly protest was organized by Coldiretti Farmers, Italy’s largest agricultural organization representing over 70,000 workers. The organization demands greater transparency for consumers and fairness for Italian farmers, arguing that they deserve respect and that the “Made in Italy” label must accurately reflect the product’s origin.
