The state of Amazonas in Brazil has granted a license to Brazil Potash, allowing the company to proceed with the construction of the Autazes project. This project is expected to become the largest fertilizer mine in Latin America and will be located within the Amazon rainforest.

On Monday, Governor Wilson Lima announced that the state’s environmental protection agency, IPAAM, issued the installation license. Brazil Potash plans to invest a significant 13 billion reais ($2.6 billion) in the mine’s development, located approximately 75 miles (120 km) southeast of Manaus, the state capital.
