Manitoba’s farmers received a mixed bag in the 2024 budget announcement by Finance Minister Adrien Sala. While residential property owners will see changes to their school tax rebates, Keystone Agricultural Producers (KAP) welcomed the news that farm properties will retain the current 50% rebate.

“We’re pleased with the maintained rebate for farm properties,” said KAP General Manager Brenna Mahoney. “However, we’ll continue to press the province for the complete elimination of the tax on farmland and hope this is factored into the development of the new provincial education funding model.”
