Canadian Western Agribition (CWA) continues to demonstrate financial success and a strong connection with the community, reporting a net profit of $75,000 for 2023. While slightly lower than 2022’s results, this marks the second consecutive year of profitability for the popular agricultural showcase.

At CWA’s annual general meeting, CEO Shaun Kindopp highlighted several factors contributing to the positive results: “For a second consecutive year, we’ve got record revenues at $4.6 million, a second consecutive year of record sponsorship at $1.3 million, and a second consecutive year of record rodeo attendance.”

Despite increasing competition for funding, CWA remains a highly valued brand for sponsors. Kindopp affirmed the organization’s commitment to fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency as key to continuing this trend.

2023 also saw successful new initiatives like a golf tournament and the Canadian Animal Agtech Awards. Total attendance during the six-day event reached 142,807, the highest recorded since 2005.

CWA also announced its 2024-25 leadership team, with Michael Latimer of Olds, Alberta, elected as the new president. Latimer possesses extensive experience in the beef cattle industry and has played an active role on the Agribition Board of Directors since 2015.
