The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a recall of over 16,000 pounds of ground beef sold at Walmart stores nationwide. The beef, produced by Cargill Meat Solutions, may be contaminated with potentially harmful E. coli bacteria.

The recall affects several ground beef products sold in various tray sizes. Consumers should look for lot codes 117 or 118 and the establishment number “EST. 86P” printed on the back of the label and the USDA mark of inspection on the front. A full list of affected products can be found on the USDA Website: [invalid URL removed].

The FSIS advises consumers who purchased the recalled meat to throw it away or return it to their place of purchase. E. coli can cause severe illness, including diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and vomiting. Those experiencing symptoms should seek medical attention.
