Dairy Farmers Rally for Fair Pricing Reform

In response to financial challenges faced by dairy farmers due to the current milk pricing formula, a coalition including the American Farm Bureau Federation and National Farmers Union is urgently calling for action from USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack. The current pricing mechanism, established by the 2018 farm bill, has been criticized for not adequately reflecting the economic realities of dairy production, leading to calls for a return to the previous “higher-of” Class III or IV price calculations to ensure the sustainability of the dairy industry.
