India’s poultry industry is on the brink of setting a new record in the 2023-24 fiscal year, with exports projected to reach ₹1,200 crore to ₹1,400 crore, driven by robust demand from Oman, Sri Lanka, Japan, and other countries. Surpassing the ₹1,000 crore milestone in just the first nine months, the sector has seen significant growth from the previous year’s high of ₹1,081 crore. The increased demand for eggs and egg products has led to a substantial rise in shipment volumes, highlighting India’s growing prominence in the global poultry market. With the industry benefiting from quality awareness among farmers and the push for infrastructural development, such as quality labs in key producing regions, the future looks promising for further expansion and diversification of export destinations.
