Innovative Blowfly Watch Service Launched to Aid Sheep Farmers

A new online service, Blowfly Watch, has been introduced to help sheep farmers in the UK tackle the costly issue of blowfly strike by providing timely alerts on the risk levels in their area. Funded by Elanco, this initiative aims at enabling farmers to apply preventive treatments to their flocks more effectively, based on real-time data on soil temperature and humidity. With the blowfly season extending due to changing weather patterns, this service is a crucial tool in preventing losses and promoting animal welfare.
