In an effort to strengthen the Colombian agricultural sector and mitigate the effects of climate change, Davivienda, Seguros Bolívar, and Finagro have come together to provide agricultural insurance to more than 10,200 producers in 428 municipalities affected by the El Niño phenomenon. This initiative, known as “Seguro Tranquilidad Rural,” is part of a vision for a Colombian countryside with greater opportunities, promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Beneficiaries of this program are spread across 27 departments, with notable participation from Cundinamarca, Santander, Valle, Córdoba, Tolima, Huila, and Antioquia. These producers have already begun to receive compensations exceeding 3.763 billion Colombian pesos to offset the adverse effects of El Niño on their crops.
